Skillet S’mores

skillet s'mores

I have many fond memories of camping with my family. Camping was an important part of my dads childhood and he continued that tradition with us too.

We always had s’mores when we went. My dad even made s’more roasting sticks from hand that make it easy to pop on a marshmallow and roast it. He also made homemade biscuit roasting sticks that we enjoyed too, but I’ll save those for another post! Who says you have to be camping to enjoy the yumminess?! Enter skillet s’mores!! This is a quick and easy way to enjoy the amazing flavors of s’mores while staying comfy indoors.

Cast Iron Skillets can truly make anything! I highly recommend using a cast iron skillet when making this dish because of the even and reliable heat distribtution. Using a baking dish or skillet that doesn’t properly retain or distribute heat is going to lead to wacky s’mores. A myriad of things could happen such as chocolate burning in some areas while remaining harder in others. Not great! Use cast iron!

I will be the first to admit that if you have special childhood memories camping with s’mores, nothing can replace that. But this is a fun way to highlight similar flavors! The few times I have made skillet s’mores, it has been to potlucks and it is a HIT! Folks can scoop a couple marshmallows into a dish with a few broken graham crackers.

I hope you enjoy this! What is one of your favorite camping memories? Sound off below!
