Drink you veggies! No, seriously – drink them! This green smoothie packs several servings of veggies and are so tasty you’ll be craving more.

The beginning of the year, John and I love to start fresh with our diets. We love to enjoy fresh smoothies for breakfast. The best smoothies are loaded with vitamins and minerals. They are incredibly versatile and flexible, a strawberry and spinach smoothie for breakfast is the perfect start to the day!

Some may wonder how you can be full from smoothies, it’s just a drink – right?!

Eh – I guess technically, yes! However, if you are packing your smoothies with tons of fruit and a few scoops of powder, you will be feeling energized for hours!

This recipe in particular, we pack with strawberry, giving you a healthy dose of vitamin C. The extra boost can help ward off any icky germs too!

The bananas bulk up the drink, giving it some density. Bananas were not only the first named “Superfood” by the American Medical Association, but are also can add additional positive calories to blended drinks. Adding an extra banana or two to you morning drink will help keep you full longer!

I don’t even need to tell you about the spinach! So many different benefits of adding more ginger to your diet. From aiding with indigestion, to treating nausea, ginger is KEY to starting your day right. While the flavor can be strong to some, the addition of the ripe bananas really mellows the spice.

This smoothie is absolutely perfect because it packs up to THREE cups of spinach, but tastes like sweet strawberries and bananas. The spinach gives it a beautiful green hue, based on taste alone – you’d never know it was packed with so much nutrients! This spinach and strawberry smoothie makes three or four 32-oz mason jars of smoothie.
