Inspired by a classic that we love to enjoy on St. Patrick’s Day – or anytime of the year! Bangers & Mash is a super easy dish that tastes amazing!

Happy St. Patty’s! Celebrate with Bangers & Mash!

Or – maybe it’s just a cold evening and you are craving a hearty, warm meal. Bangers & Mash is a super tasty dish to enjoy when it’s festive – or anytime!

Despite my dads ancestral roots across the pond, I didn’t try this dish until well into my twenties. Of course when I try something I like, I have to try and make it myself! I didn’t realize how easy it could be to make.

Splurging a little bit on a high quality sausage can really elevate this dish. It’s totally not necessary, but I promise if you spend the extra $2-3 on the better sausage, you won’t disappointed!

To get that nice char on the sausage, cooking in cast iron is a must! It really will make the sausage and gravy taste better!

The rich onion gravy that is made in the skillet is is delectable on top of the mashed potatoes. Scraping those bits of cooked sausage up off the pan and into the roux builds and deepens the flavor.

And I totally know this is not authentic. This is just a fun and festive dish that can be made with ingredients you probably have on hand already. Serve it with peas for some festive green. Enjoy!
