bangers & mash with peas

Bangers & Mash

Inspired by a classic that we love to enjoy on St. Patrick's Day - or anytime of the year! Bangers & Mash is a super easy dish that tastes amazing!

Total Time 30 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tsp oil
  • 2 sausages brat Italian sausage link, etc
  • 1/2 onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp cream or milk
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: peas and mashed potatoes for serving

Instructions
 

  • Cook sausage on high, browning each side. Remove to a plate.
  • Add a drizzle of oil if your sausages were lean over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cooking for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add flour and cream to create a roux, whisking continuously. Add beef stock, whisking until well combined.
  • Add sausages back in, simmer on low ~10 minutes or until cooked through.
  • Serve sausage and gravy over mashed potatoes with a side of peas. Enjoy!
