Berry Good Smoothie

Berry Smoothie in mason jar

Not only does this smoothie taste berry good, but it’s berry good for you too… (ha, ok I’m done). Berries fight inflammation, improve skin, and great sources of antioxidants. We love to make this smoothie when the store has a great sale on fresh berries, or when we find ourselves with a bunch of frozen berries. Feel free to toss in more or less of what you have on hand, making it a super versatile berry smoothie!

The beginning of the year, John and I love to start fresh with our diets. We love to enjoy fresh smoothies for breakfast. The best smoothies are loaded with vitamins and minerals. They are incredibly versatile and flexible, a berry smoothie for breakfast is the perfect start to the day!

Some may wonder how you can be full from smoothies, it’s just a drink – right?!

Eh – I guess technically, yes! However, if you are packing your smoothies with tons of fruit and a few scoops of powder, you will be feeling energized for hours!

This recipe in particular, we pack with citrus, giving you a healthy dose of vitamin C. The extra boost can help ward off any icky germs too!

The bananas bulk up the drink, giving it some density. Bananas were not only the first named “Superfood” by the American Medical Association, but are also can add additional positive calories to blended drinks. Adding an extra banana or two to you morning drink will help keep you full longer!

I don’t even need to tell you about the ginger! So many different benefits of adding more ginger to your diet. From aiding with indigestion, to treating nausea, ginger is KEY to starting your day right. While the flavor can be strong to some, the addition of the ripe bananas really mellows the spice.

Smoothies can be made in bulk and frozen in serving mason jars – make them once a week always be ready!
